This year’s annual Workshop on Integral Education was organized as a Certificate Course by India Council for Integral Education (ICIE), a unit of Sri Aurobindo Society, Puducherry, in two parts. The first one, ‘Basic Course in Integral Education—Theory and Approaches’ was held from 12 to 18 May, 2014 at the Society House in Puducherry. The second part covering ‘Practical Methods and Training’ was held at Auro Mirra International School (AMIS), Bengaluru, only for the teachers of AMIS. The workshop was coordinated by Harvinder, Director, ICIE.

The following sessions were covered, through discussions, activities, stories, audio-visual presentations, fun-filled games, silence and contemplation:

Sessions on Powers Within
Assembly
Mathematics – Sessions by Monica Kochar, New Delhi
Integral Project – Sessions by Harvinder, Puducherry
Science – Sessions by Veera Dastoor, Mumbai
Special Sessions by Monica Kochar and Veera Dastoor on Values (Cooperation, teamwork)

All the days concluded with a special rounding off sessions by Harvinder, through musings and silence. In her unique style, Harvinder got all the teachers to unleash their inner thoughts on to paper. She began with stirring up their thoughts, only to calm them down finally. One day she made use of music as an aid to melt own stress; another day she used imagination as a tool. Another day she led the group into deep relaxation. Each day the participants wrote for ten minutes, and it helped them to unclog their emotional and mental systems.
